1. Ceiling Spots

2. Algae Growth
Algae growth occurs when airborne algae is deposited on th roof. It's a common problem in warm,
humid climates.
3. Curling
Curling is caused by inadequate ventilation, improper fely backing, or lack of back coating.
4. Buckling
Buckling is caused by improperly applied felt or movement in a deck.
5. Damaged Shingles
Damaged shingles are caused by exposure to high wind or improper fastening. They may be replaced individually, but it's not recommended.
6. Rotting
Rotting is a common problem with organic-based shingles and is caused when moisture is absorbed at the core of the shingle.
7. Damaged Flashing
Damaged flashing is the result of improper installation or drying and cracking. You might be able to replace it without replacing the roof.
8. Missing Granules
Missing granules on an aging shingle indicates the shingle needs to be replaced. On new shingles, a certain number of missing granules is normal.
9. Blistering
Blistering is caused by excessive use of ashpalt plastic cement or moisture in the shingles.
